Football: Round-up - Tuscarora Evens Record at 4-4; Dominion Falls on Final Play of Game; Woodgrove, Heritage Lose

(Oct. 26, 2010) - Tuscarora High School rushed for five scores on the ground, including three TD's by Cameron Molina, as the first-year Huskies evened their record at 4-4 on the season with a 34-15 win over East Rockingham Friday.

Dominion suffered heartache for the second straight week, falling to South Lakes, 20-14, as the Seahawks scored on the final play of the game, just one week after the Titans lost a 14-point lead and fell to Loudoun County in overtime.

Woodgrove couldn't get its offense going and fell to Hyde, 18-6, and Heritage was beaten by Battlefield, 54-7.

Huskies win on Homecoming with Molina scoring three times from inside the 10 and Adrien Stinger adding a 29-yard TD and Edwin Mends scoring from 24 yards.

The three backs helped Tuscarora control the game while piling up 221 yards rushing on 33 attempts.

Deandre Reaves rushed for 194 yards on 39 carries and scored two touchdowns but South Lakes made the big plays including a Ja'Juan Jones 38-yard interception return for a score and Brian Brinson's 23-yard touchdown reception from Rashaan Jones as time expired to give South Lakes the win.

Reaves scored from the 1 and from 16 yards, the second score made it 14-14 in the third quarter.

Jones finished 9 of 19 for 116 and two scores includuing a 25-yard TD to Darius Smith.

Hyde 18, Woodgrove 6
Hyde controlled the ball for 39 out of the 48 minutes in the contest as Woodgrove managed just 73 total yards to Hyde's 276.

The score was still just 6-0 when Hyde score with four seconds left in the first half to take a 12-0 to the lockerrooms. Hyde then added a score early in the third quarter to take command, 18-0.

Woodgrove broke the shutout in the final quarter with Tyler Workman scoring on a 4-year run.

The two teams combined for eitht turnovers and 24 penalties in the game with Hyde racking up 17 penalties and five turnovers.

The Pride were held to minus-9 yards rushing in this defeat with Austin Nelson providing the lone touchdown with a 34-yard TD pass to Kyle Flinton.

Nelson finished 23 of 43 for 311 yards and two interceptions.
