Golf: Loudoun County Finishes 4th in AA State Tournament

Blacksburg (Oct. 13, 2010) - The Loudoun County High School formidable group of golf seniors finished their fine prep careers Tuesday with a fourth place finish at the VHSL AA state tournament at the Blacksburg Country Club.

The Raiders shot 608 as a team in a tournament won by Jamestown with a record-breaking 575 -- nine strokes better than the two-day total Cox posted in the AAA tournament in 2006 -- that wrapped up a second straight title for the Hampton Roads area team.

Western Albemarle was runner-up at 588 and Blacksburg was third at 594.

Adam Ochs of Briar Woods had the best local finish with a 148.

Loudoun County was led by Brantley Kushner's 152 followed by Kevin Cook (153), Michael Linville (154) and Matt Tomassone (154).
