Boys Basketball: Stone Bridge with Big Win over South Lakes; Potomac Falls Takes Heritage and Park View Beats Clarke County

(Jan. 8, 2010) - Richie Berry scored 21 points as the Stone Bridge High School boys basketball improved to 2-1 in the AAA Liberty District and 6-4 overall with a 75-54 win over South Lakes Thursday. In other action, Potomac Falls beat Heritage, 66-55, and Park View took Clarke County, 60-55, in non-district contest.

South Lakes jumped out to a 7-0 lead, but SB fought back to take a 35-30 lead going into halftime.

The Bulldogs then came out at halftime and controlled the tempo, outscoring SL, 22-12. The Seahawks played a diamond-1 on Nik Brown (14 points) for most of the game.

SB senior Sam Tripp fell one point short of a double-double, scoring nine and grabbing 10 rebounds. Tripp, Brown, and Berry combined for a total of 10 steals.

Smith led South Lakes in scoring with 15 while Daye pitched in 10.

Potomac Falls 66, Heritage 55
Potomac Falls got 19 points from Lukas Mihailovich and 11 apiece from Brendon Chesson and Gregory Graves to beat the Pride in a non-district contest.

Elijah Calhoun led the Pride with 20 and Eric Dentler scored 15.
