Gymnastics Notebook: All 10 Teams Competed on Tuesday with Broad Run and Loudoun Valley Winning Meets

(Jan. 13, 2010 - How close will the Dulles District gymnastics meet be? Broad Run and Freedom both broke 133 points and were separated by 0.225 points Tuesday in a meet at Freedom High School and Loudoun County at a meet at Briar Woods scored its best team score of the year with 125.


Report from Loudoun County and Heritage gymnastics
Last night the Loudoun County gymnastics team had its highest team score of the season with 125 points, placing second to Loudoun Valley in a meet at Briar Woods.

Leading the way was sophomore Jess Drews who finished 1st on the beam (personal best 9.6), 1st on Vault (8.8), 3rd on bars(8.4) , 5th on floor (8.2) and 1st in the all around with 35.00.

Sophomore Christina Thoppil placed 2nd on vault 8.7, 3rd on Bars 8.4, 8th on beam (7.8), 6th on floor (8.0), 5th All Around 32.90).

Sophomore Layla Ghuzlan had a personal best on the beam(7.3), vault (7.8), Bars (2.6), Floor (5.7), All Around 23.4

Freshman Danielle Scoggin placed 3rd on vault (8.6), 7th on bars (8.1), 3rd on beam (8.5), 4th on floor (8.5), 3rd all around 33.70.

The Raiders had a 1, 2, 3 sweep of the vault placing.
