Ashburn (Jan. 5, 2010) - The Broad Run High School three-time AA state title winning softball team will receive its latest championship rings Tuesday night at halftime of the Spartans boys basketball game against Park View.
The 2009 team won the Dulles District, Region II, and AA Virginia state championships. The ring for juniors and seniors represents their third consecutive state championship. Over the past four years Broad Run has a 105-4 record. During this time members of the team had the second longest winning streak in Virginia history, set a National Record for shutout innings, and in 2008 were declared by USA Today and ESPN as the best team in the nation.
