Football: Freedom's Freda Twins Commit to Frostburg State University

South Riding (May 3, 2012) - Freedom High School seniors Chris and Zach Freda have committed to play football together at Frostburg State University in Frostburg, MD next fall. Chris and Zach Freda are both 3-year letterman for the Eagles.


Chris Freda was a first team Cedar Run All-District defensive tackle selection as a senior and was a two time Dulles District All-District defensive tackle prior to the Eagles making the jump to the Cedar Run district. He is the Eagle’s record holder for career sacks. He is also a two time District wrestling champion and finished his high school wrestling career with over 100 victories.

Zach Freda was a team captain for the Eagles his senior season. He played fullback, quarterback, linebacker, and filled in at offensive lineman at times during his high school career. Zach was a two time Iron Eagle award winner for his off-season work ethic and is one of the team’s career leaders in tackles.

The Frostburg State Bobcats are Division III members of the Empire 8 Athletic Conference. The Bobcats posted a 4-6 record in 2011 under head coach Tom Rogish.
