Softball: Stone Bridge JR Niki Prince Named Liberty District Player of the Year

 Ashburn (May 15, 2012) - Stone Bridge High School junior shortstop Niki Prince has been named the  Liberty District Player of the Year in a vote of the coaches. The Bulldogs' Billy Rice was also named the Coach of the Year.

Rice and Prince were two of the reasons for Stone Bridge's 17-2 regular season which earned them the top seed in the Liberty after a sparkling 13-1 district campaign. Also named first team for Stone Bridge were junior pitcher Kelly McDaniel, junior second base Courtney Gibson, junior outfielder Sydney Broderick and in the At-Large spot, junior outfielder Presley Gibson.

The Bulldog roster has just three seniors on it and two other Bulldog juniors -- infielder Katie Bellino and catcher Olivia Tatara -- were named second team. Complete selections:
