News: Wet Fields Force More Changes to Playoff Schedule

(May 22, 2012) - Wet playing fields and the threat of thunderstorms today have forced more changes to the high school playoff schedule.

Please check with your school before heading out. Viva Loudoun will update this story as any changes are sent to us.

Changes as of 10:40 a.m.:

Cedar Run District Baseball: Moved from Patriot High School to Freedom High School in South Riding with Broad Run vs. Patriot at 3:30 p.m. consolation final. Freedom vs. Osbourn title game wills start 20 minutes after first game ends with apx. first pitch between 5:30 and 6 p.m.

Cedar Run District Softball: Today's title game between Broad Run and Battlefield has been postponed with no make-up date announced yet.

Northern Region Girls Soccer: Wet playing surface at Stone Bridge High School has the Bulldogs playing their first round home game with Oakton at Fairfax High School's turf field tonight at 6 p.m.

Region II Boys Tennis: Loudoun County boys have moved their quarterfinal with Kettle Run to the Ida Lee recreation center in Leesburg at 1 p.m. They will attempt to play outside with an option to move to the indoor courts. Briar Woods boys quarterfinal at Fauquier has been postponed until Wed. May 23 and moved to Chestnut Forks in Warrenton at 1 p.m.

Northwest Region Girls Lacrosse: Broad Run girls at Forest Park has been postponed and moved to Thurs. May 24 because of the major flooding in Prince William County.
