Golf: Middleburg Academy's Maclain Huge Qualifies for U.S. Open Sectional

(May 16, 2012) - Middleburg Academy senior Maclain Huge, a Virginia Tech recruit, fired a 2-under 69 yesterday at the Four Streams Golf Club in Beallsville, Md. to finish in a tie for third at the U.S. Open Local Qualifying.


Huge, one stroke away from the low score of he day, will now head to Sectional Qualifying at Woodmont CC in Rockville, Md. on June 4th. Making it through Sectionals would Huge, who trains at the Elite Performance Golf Academy located in Leesburg, the right to play in this year's U.S. Open at the Olympic Club in California.
