News: Team Joe Update - Cornhole Tournament Scheduled for Oct. 2

(Sept. 15, 2010) - VivaLoudoun is a proud Founding Sponsor of Team Joe Charities which was formed in 2007 to raise money for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children.

The NICU is a level 3 care facility, which is the most advanced of its kind in Northern Virginia. The unit has over 60 beds and is one of the largest in the nation, and admits high-risk infants from all over our region. Joe Petrella was born 12 weeks early, weighing only 1.5 pounds. He spent 104 days in the NICU, and without their wonderful care he would not be here with us today!

For anyone interested in donating to the charity, please keep in mind that every dollar donated to Team Joe goes directly to the NICU. We have no administrative costs, and all costs incurred hosting our golf tournament and other fundraisers are paid for by Denny, Gen, and Joe Petrella. Team Joe Charities is a 501(c)(3) organization, so not only does every dollar you donate go directly to the NICU, but every dollar is tax deductable. We're sold out. We have one of the best problems around... we sell this tournament out each year, and this year we filled the course in just three weeks after our first email blast. Thanks to all those who are playing this year. For those of you who didn't make it in this year, we hope to see you next year.

We still have a few spots open. If you want to enter this tournament please email Denny at dp@cheerssports.com to secure your spot. Just like the golf tournament, this is filling up fast. Entry fee is $25 per two-person team. Prizes awarded for 1st and 2nd place.

Spectators
Come out and enjoy the day with us. Cheer on your friends, enjoy some live music, eat some great food, and maybe even enjoy a beverage or two. Shenanigans will donate a portion of all food and drinks sold during the event to Team Joe. We hope to see you there! We ask that you donate $5 for a Team Joe wristband to show your support.
