News: Loudoun County School Board Presented Options on Ashburn School Sites

(Sept. 29, 2010) - The Loudoun County School Board was presented a study detailing options for Ashburn school sites at its Tuesday, September 28th, meeting. This study was compiled as a result of discussions among members of the Joint School Board-Board of Supervisors Committee in late 2009. The Board of Supervisors took action in April to fund a feasibility study for several projects identified with the potential of increasing enrollment capacity in the Ashburn area. $485,000 was appropriated to study the following projects:
· Belmont Ridge Site (turning middle school site into a high school)
· Newton-Lee Site (turning elementary school site into a middle school)
· Farmwell Site (adding a elementary school to current site)
