Football: No. 1 Stone Bridge Blanks TJ, 49-0, to Move to 4-0

(Sept. 25, 2010) - The Stone Bridge High School football team protected its No. 1 ranking in the Washington Post with a 49-0 shutout over Thomas Jefferson Friday in AAA Liberty District play.

The Bulldogs, with a first unity defense that has yet to give up a touchdown this season, improved to 1-0 and 4-0 while TJ fell to 0-2 and 0-4.

Stone Bridge senior Marcus Harris had a huge game with 171 yards on just 11 carries including touchdown runs of 52, 41 and 33 yards. Stan Johnson also caught a 49-yard TD pass in the game from Kyle Gouveia.

Stone Bridge out-gained TJ, 449-13, in the contest.

James Manning came off the bench for Stone Bridge and finished with 106 yards on nine carries and a score.
