Volleyball: Two for the Show! Loudoun County and Loudoun Valley Advance to State Semifinals

(Nov. 17, 2009) - Loudoun volleyball fans have two chances for a state title after both Loudoun County and Loudoun Valley captured VHSL state quarterfinals Tuesday night on their respective home floors.

Loudoun Valley dropped the first set to Langley but rallied for three straight wins to advance to Thursday's 8 p.m. AAA state semifinals against Central Region champion Mills Godwin at VCU's Siegel Center in Richmond.

Loudoun County, looking for a fourth straight trip to the AA finals and third straight state title, swept Lafayette to move into Friday's 4 p.m. AA semifinals against Region IV champion Cave Spring, a team the Raiders already beat this season.

If both teams win in the semifinals they would play back-to-back state for state titles, LC at 12:30 in the AA finals and LV at 2:30 in the AAA finals.
