College Corner: Heritage Grad Thiel Accepts Invite to FCS Senior Bowl

Loretto, Pa. (Oct. 30, 2012) – Senior place kicker Josh Thiel (Leesburg, Va./Heritage) of the Saint Francis University football team accepted an invitation to play in the FCS Senior Scout Bowl. Thiel has connected on 7-of-7 field goals thus far in his senior campaign.


The Leesburg, Va. native is 5-of-5 this season and 8-of-9 over the past two seasons from 40 yards or longer. Thiel holds the five longest kicks in school history, including a 50-yarder that he hit this past weekend at CCSU.

For his career, Thiel stands second all-time in field goals made, three behind the career leader, and is third all-time in points scored. Thiel holds 25 made field goals in his four-year playing career with two regular season games remaining.

The FCS Senior Scout Bowl will be played in Myrtle Beach, S.C. on Saturday, Dec. 15 with kickoff set for 6 p.m.
