Oh, and then they both went and won with Baker picking Stone Bridge 24-17 to beat Westfield, just off by four points, enough to edge Tim Lieb (24-21) and Jason "The Oracle" Treon (17-14).
Ryder -- entering fourth grade at Sanders Corner this year -- picked Broad Run by only 28-17 ... and most other people had Broad Run scoring more and Heritage less. Dave Scarangella of www.dullesdistrict.com finished runner-up with a 35-13 pick. Walter McCowat was third at 35-17.
This is Ryder' second win all-time (the last time he won ... Baker also won ... go figure!) and he boasted this weekend that he would catch Treon for the all-time lead before he enters middle school.
"Heck, I'll also take his lunch money as well!," said a cocky Sousa.

Baker -- famous in our household for her "Shoot It" chants during one much-too-fun freshmen basketball season -- has now won five times all-time.
