Move Over Huskies! Here Come the Wolverines!

While Tuscarora High School in Leesburg selected the Huskies as its new mascot, the other new high school in Loudoun slated to open next year, Woodgrove High School, has also selected its mascot: the Wolverine.

Woodgrove Athletic Director Rusty Lowery said the Wolverine beat out the Wolves and Wolfpack, though he couldn't get anybody to support his personal favorite: the Timber Rattlers.


For the record, since we pointed out that Loudoun is not home to any Huskies ... nor is it home to any Wolverines ... until now!

The school's colors are navy blue, green and white.

Principal Ric Gauriloff asked 861 students from Harmony Intermediate and Loudoun Valley High School to vote on the mascot and colors. The results were as follows:
