Rosters Set for Touchdowns for Tommy Flag Football Fundraiser Between Park View and Loudoun County Alumni

Leesburg - With just two days to go before the Touchdowns for Tommy flag football fundraiser between Park View and Loudoun County alumni and the rosters are taking shape for the game which kicks off at 7 p.m. at Loudoun County High School Thursday.

Admission at the game will be $5 for those age 5 and above.

"Tochdowns for Tommy" is being held to help raise money for SUDC (Sudden Unexpected Death In Childhood).

Tommy Marshall passed away at the age of two and half to unexplained reasons which are classified as SUDC, the toddler version of SIDS. Loudoun County assistant football coach Cary Vipond, a friend of the Marshall family, has organized the charity event.

Rules:  The game will be 4-12 minute Quarters.  The clock will ONLY stop on first downs and penalties.  Incomplete passes and dead balls (fumbles) will not stop the clock.  Coin toss determines who gets the ball to begin the game.  The ball will begin on the 20 yard line and you have 4 plays to get 20 yards.  You may punt the ball on 4th down (no rush) and the return team cannot advance the ball.  If you go for it and do not get it, the defenders get the ball wherever it is.  Touchdowns are worth 6 points.  You may either kick a PAT (no rush and get 1 point from the 2 yard line, or go for 2 points from the 10 Yard line.

The game will be 9 on 9.  You must have 3 linemen and there must be at least 2 offensive players in the backfield (ex: QB and RB.)  THIS IS FLAG FOOTBALL.  You may not tie your flags.  No ball carrier shall deliberately drive or run into a defensive player, nor straight arm, or protect the flag.  The play is dead when the flag is pulled or falls off.  A defensive player shall not hold/grasp/obstruct the forward progress of the ball carrier when in the act of removing a flag.  BRING A MOUTHPIECE!

All players are eligible receivers.  The offense may make as many passes behind the location of the ball as they want.  The offense may only make 1 forward pass.  There is no pass interference on passes behind the ball, but there is pass interference on any forward pass.  The ball is dead when it hits the ground and cannot be advanced.  If the ball is fumbled and the opposing team recovers it, it is a change of possession.
