Girls Volleyball: Loudoun County Sweeps All-Region Honors with Jenna Strange Player of the Year, Jenica Matthias Coach of the Year

(Nov. 14, 2011) - Loudoun County High School girls volleyball, which swept to a sixth consecutive Region II title Saturday night, claimed the top regional honors with senior Jenna Strange named the Player of the Year and Jenica Matthias named the Coach of the Year.

Strange joined senior teammates Katrina Kirby and Libero Gabby Serafin on the first team along with Heritage senior setter Stephanie Yokoyama. Second team honors went to Heritage sophomore Sydney Busa and Potomac Falls junior Kayla Carlton.

Volleyball: Loudoun County Junior Jenna Strange Commits Early to NCAA Division I William and Mary

Leesburg (Feb. 26, 2011) - Loudoun County High School junior Jenna Strange has made an early commitment to play volleyball at NCAA Division I William and Mary starting in 2012.

According to Loudoun County athletic director Ken Wright: "The 2010 first team all state and Prep Volleyball All American decided to stay in-state and attend William and Mary."

She becomes the second Raider in three years to commit to the Tribe, joining 2009 graduate Shaylin O'Connell on the volleyball squad.

Strange has been a varsity team member since her freshmen year, winning three consecutive state championships in volleyball. The Raiders have won four consecutive VHSL AA state titles.

She becomes the sixth area junior to commit early to a volleyball scholarship and will join Broad Run junior Mallory Brickerd at William and Mary.

(Feb. 11, 2011) - PrepVolleyball.com recently unveiled its select list of high school girls volleyball All-Americans and of the four Virginia players to make the list of 150, two are from Loudoun County: Flint Hill senior Tori Janowski and Loudoun County High School junior Jenna Strange.

Another area player, Stone Bridge senior Christine Beckham was named Honorable Mention.

Strange, who helped the Raiders to a fourth consecutive VHSL AA state title in the fall, is one of just 41 juniors named to the prestigious list.

Volleyball: Loudoun County's Jenna Strange Named Region II Player of the Year

(Nov. 16, 2010) - Loudoun County High School junior Jenna Strange, who has led the Raiders to a 25-1 record this year and a chance at a record fourth straight AA state title, is the 2010 Region II girls volleyball Player of the Year in a vote of the coaches.

Raider coach Jenica Matthias and Freedom coach Jim Clark, who have both qualified their teams for tonight's AA state quarterfinals, were named co-Coaches of the Year.
