Volleyball: Stone Bridge's Beckham Earns MVP Honors as She Leads West over East in VHSCA All-Star Match

(July 15, 2011) - Stone Bridge High School recent graduate Christine Beckham was honored with the MVP award for her efforts that led the West over the East in the Virginia High School Coaches Association all-star volleyball game Thursday at Christopher Newport University in Newport News.

The 25-21, 25-9, 25-23 win was the first for the West since 2004.

Loudoun was also represented by Amy Christensen (Stone Bridge), Taylor Maddox (Loudoun Valley), and Brittany Brown (Loudoun Valley) on the West squad, and Kathleen Horvath (Loudoun County) on the East squad. The West coaches included Stone Bridge's own Jill Raschiatore.

Volleyball: Stone Bridge Celebrates Three Seniors to Play in College

Ashburn (May 10, 2011) - The Stone Bridge High School volleyball team celebrated last week the college signing of three seniors -- Christine Beckham, Amy Christensen and Amanda Miller -- who helped the Bulldogs to a AAA state runner-up finish in the fall and school-best ever record of 28-2.

Beckham will play at NCAA Division I Radford, Christensen at DI UConn and Miller at NCAA Division II West Georgia.

Miller exits all of the Bulldogs setting records including most assists in a match (44), season (905) and career (1,823).

Beckham totaled the second most kills in school history for a career with 1,033 and holds the school mark for service points in match at 32.

Christensen holds the Bulldogs mark for digs in a match with 40.

During their junior and senior seasons, the trio helped Stone Bridge compile a combined 51-5 record.

(Feb. 11, 2011) - PrepVolleyball.com recently unveiled its select list of high school girls volleyball All-Americans and of the four Virginia players to make the list of 150, two are from Loudoun County: Flint Hill senior Tori Janowski and Loudoun County High School junior Jenna Strange.

Another area player, Stone Bridge senior Christine Beckham was named Honorable Mention.

Strange, who helped the Raiders to a fourth consecutive VHSL AA state title in the fall, is one of just 41 juniors named to the prestigious list.

Volleyball: Stone Bridge Senior Christine Beckham to Play at NCAA Division I Radford

(Jan. 15, 2011) - Stone Bridge High School senior Christine Beckham has verbally committed to play NCAA Division I volleyball next year at Radford University.

Beckham helped the Bulldogs to their best season in school history in the fall, finishing as VHSL AAA state runner-ups. While a hitter for her high school team, Beckham plays setter in club volleyball and has been recruited at that position by the Highlanders.
