Baseball: Broad Run's Andrew Seigel Signs with Concord University

Ashburn (April 17, 2012) - On Friday night, following Broad Run High School’s 10-4 baseball win over Osbourn, Spartans senior outfielder Andrew Seigel signed an athletic scholarship to play baseball for coach Andrew Wright at NCAA Division II Concord University in Athens, West Virginia.


Through 12 games, Seigel has had an outstanding senior campaign for the Spartans leading the team in numerous offensive categories. The speedy leadoff hitter has posted team highs in: plate appearances (49), runs scored (13), hits (14), Base on Balls (10), and stolen bases (6).

As a junior last year, Seigel hit .383 in the leadoff spot for the Spartans team that won the Region Championship, won the Dulles District Regular Season Championship, and ended their year in the AA state semifinals.

“Andrew has had a great career at Broad Run and our whole coaching staff is thrilled he is going to get the opportunity to play baseball on scholarship in college. I am very confident that Andrew will do great things at Concord,” said Broad Run Head Coach Pat Cassidy.

Concord University is a member of the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC).
