(March 30, 2012) - Fifteen Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) students have qualified for the Virginia Geography Bee today at Shenandoah University in Winchester.
The Virginia Bee is part of the National Geographic Bee, which takes part in three stages. It begins with competitions at the school level for students in fourth through eighth grade. Each school winner takes a written test and the top scorers in each state and territory compete at the state level.
The 55 state and territory winners meet at National Geographic Society headquarters in Washington, D.C., for the national competition from May 22nd to May 24th.
Students representing LCPS at the State Geography Bee include:
