(May 22, 2013) - Akhil Rekulapelli, a seventh-grader at Stone Hill Middle School, is one of the 10 finalists in the 25th annual National Geographic Geography Bee.
The final round of the competition will be simulcast in prime time on the National Geographic Channel and Nat Geo WILD at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 23.

News: 15 Loudoun County Public Schools Students Compete at Today's State Geography Bee
(March 30, 2012) - Fifteen Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) students have qualified for the Virginia Geography Bee today at Shenandoah University in Winchester.
The Virginia Bee is part of the National Geographic Bee, which takes part in three stages. It begins with competitions at the school level for students in fourth through eighth grade. Each school winner takes a written test and the top scorers in each state and territory compete at the state level.
