College Corner: Stone Bridge Grad Derek Maltz and Loudoun Valley Grad Chris Daddio Help Top-ranked Syracuse into NCAA Final Four

(May 24, 2013) - You can catch a couple of local grads on national TV Saturday as Stone Bridge High School grad Derek Maltz and Loudoun Valley High School grad Chris Daddio will take the field for Syracuse University as the top-ranked Orange take on No. 4 Denver at 5 p.m. in the NCAA Final Four at Lincoln Financial Field in Phileadelphia.

The other other semifinal pits No. 7 Duke against unranked Cornell at 2:30 p.m.


Maltz is a junior captain and is tied the club lead with 30 goals on the season on 90 shots. He also has seven assists. Maltz has started all 18 games.

Daddio, also a junior, has played in 17 games and has taken more than half of all faceoffs for the Orange this season, having won 113 of 246 for a .459 mark.

Saturday's game will air live on ESPN2.
