Still after the tie with Heritage on April 8 the defending AA state runner-up Huskies were 4-0-2 and ready for their Dulles District schedule and since then the team has been unbeatable, winning 10 straight games to take the regular-season district title with 9-0-0 mark.
During this spectacular run, Tuscarora (14-0-2) has not allowed any goals in competitive games, out-scoring opponents 39-3 with the three goals allowed in runaway wins over Champe, 10-2, and Loudoun Valley, 8-1.
On offense for Tuscarora there is no secret that senior Angel Ceron-Garcia is a gifted striker that requires full attention of defenses. The returning Region II Player of the Year has 17 goals on the year. The Huskies have other scoring power with sophomore Sergio Resendiz with 10 goals and 5 assists and senior Kevin Nerio with 9 goals.
On defense, senior keeper Adam Kight, a first team all-region player last year, anchors a stingy unit that has coped nicely with the loss of first team all-region as a junior, defender Ben Ogedegbe, an IUPUI signee who did come out this season.
The Huskies starting back four are senior Myron Hernandez, senior Preston Phillips, junior Edgar Resendez and senior Eric Maestri. What scoring opportunities that have gotten by this dominating defense in the past two months has been saved by Kight, who now has 42 saves on the season.
