Baseball: Middleburg Academy Falls to Atlantic Shores in VISAA State Playoffs

(May 18, 2011) - Middleburg Academy had their baseball season end Tuesday with a 4-1 loss at Atlantic Shores in the VISAA state quarterfinals.

Daniel Anderson drove in Anthony Woods for the Dragons only run in the second inning, giving Middleburg a 1-0 lead.

Atlantic Shores' potent offense (56 homers on the year) was kept in check most of the day as they managed only five hits on Middleburg junior starter Connor Gorman.

Middleburg finshes the season with a 17-10 record.
