Volleyball: Loudoun Valley Captures AAA Northwest Regional Title

Charlottesville (Nov. 14, 2009) - The Loudoun Valley High School volleyball team avenged a loss at home last year in the AAA Northwest Regional title game to Albemarle by beating Albemarle in five games ( 25-22, 14-25, 29-27, 15-25, 15-13). on their home court to take the regional title.

The Vikes will now host a state quarterfinal match on Tuesday against Northern Region runner-up Langley, a 3-1 loser to South County on Saturday. South County will host Albemarle.

Valley coach Laird Johnson reports that it "was a tough match. Both teams trading momentum and errors as well as outstanding plays. Many lead changes in all five sets."
