Week 8, April 29-May 4
1, Potomac Falls (13-3)
Panthers maintain top ranking despite a 1-0 loss to Heritage as all teams in LoCo Top 5 suffered losses on the week!
2, Woodgrove (9-4)
Wolverines win three times on week including beating then No. 5 Heritage which turned around an beat No. 1 Potomac Falls and a non-district win over previous No. 1 Freedom to move into Top 5 at the No. 2 spot!
3, Heritage (11-7)
Pride fall 4-3 to Woodgrove but shut down Potomac Falls 1-0 in big Dulles win.
4, Freedom (13-5)
The Eagles have gone 2-4 since their 11-1 start to the season.
5, Loudoun Valley (13-6)
Vikes suffer losses to Potomac Falls and Briar Woods -- surrendering 10 runs in each game.

Vikes move up a spot with three wins on week over Hedgesville, 5-4, Park View, 5-2, and Loudoun County, 4-2.
4, Stone Bridge (7-5)
Bulldogs continue climb up with wins over Fairfax, 6-0, and Oakton, 6-2.
3, Woodgrove (6-2)
Wolverines tripped up by Briar Woods, 10-4, after 11-1 win over Dominion.

Wolverines hanging tough and move up a spot with wins over Tuscarora, Park View and Loudoun County.
4, Loudoun Valley (5-3)
Vikes up a spot with district wins over Heritage and Tuscarora sandwiched around a non-district loss to Musselman.
3, Stone Bridge (5-5)
Bulldogs lost in non-district action to Freedom but have now won three straight in the Liberty District with wins over South Lakes, 7-0, and Marshall, 12-2.

Eagles remain unbeaten with wins over Heritage, Kettle Run and Patriot

The Panthers make the leap from No. 5 to No. 2 with wins over then No. 4 Loudoun Valley and No. 3 Heritage. PFalls only loss on year is to No. 1 Freedom.
3, Heritage (5-3)Pride stay at No. 3 with losses on week to No. 1 Freedom and new No. 2 Potomac Falls. Heritage shut out then No. 2 Woodgrove to finish tough week 1-2.
4, Woodgrove (2-1)
Just four weeks into season and Wolverines with only three games under belt. Lone game of the week was a 5-0 loss to No. 3 Heritage.
5, Loudoun Valley (5-3)
Vikes drop a spot with a 2-1 week that included the loss to No. 2 Potomac Falls and wins over Briar Woods and Herndon

Eagles beat Heritage in extra innings, 4-3; and shut out Kettle Run, 7-0
2, Woodgrove (2-0)
Wolverines move up two spots with 3-0 win over Loudoun Valley
3, Heritage (4-1)
Pride continue climb, moving up two spots after after inning loss to No. 1 Freedom and then strong wins over Dominion (12-2) and Loudoun County (9-1)
4, Loudoun Valley (3-2)
Vikes drop one spot. They opened week with 12-0 win over Dominion then lost a lead in a 15-11 non-district loss to Westfield and then were shut out by Woodgrove, 3-0.
5, Potomac Falls (3-1)
The Panthers return to the Top 5 after a week on "The Bubble". PFalls won two close games, 4-3 over Loudoun County in nine innings and 4-3 over Briar Woods

Update for week 3?
ReplyDeleteHeritage has played Freedom twice. Both times Heritage had two other games, district games, games that actually matter, the same week. Freedom is a non-district game for Heritage. Freedom pitched their top pitchers, Heritage had to conserve their bullpen. It would be a different game if Heritage could throw their top pitcher.
ReplyDeletePotomac Falls should be #2 heading into this next week's ranking. They are getting their sticks going and their pitching is solid
