Youth Sports - Gymnastics - APEX to Host 10th Annual Emerald City Classic

Leesburg (Feb. 22, 2011) - APEX Gymnastics is gearing up to host the 10th Annual Emerald City Classic, a competition featuring more than 600 gymnasts representing over 20 clubs.

The event will take place March 4-6 at APEX Gymnastics in Leesburg. The competition is for Levels 4 thru 10 and will feature the APEX competitive team, which has had some outstanding results already this year.


APEX’s 28,000-square foot facility is transformed into the Emerald City for the event with full sized sets, decorations, balloons, a yellow brick road and all the characters from the Wizard of Oz mingling with the gymnasts and spectators.

There are lots of opportunities to take pictures. All of the awards are Oz themed with Wizard of Oz beanie babies and lollipops from Munchkinland being awarded as All Around awards.

Team awards are custom designed Wizard of Oz plaques and each gymnast receives a custom meet t- shirt. Admission is free, so come out and support APEX Gymnastics and your local area gymnastics clubs.

There will be a recreational session hosted on March 12th for local recreational gymnasts.

Clubs attending include Shenandoah, Gymini, Paragon, Hurricans, Aerials, DDC, Classics, Apollo and APEX as well as many others.
