Basketball: The Skinny on Wednesday's Dulles District Semifinals

(Feb. 16, 2011) - The Dulles District move into semifinal basketball action tonight with girls games at Freedom and Loudoun County and boys games at Briar Woods at Potomac Falls. All start at 7 p.m.

Girls Dulles District Semifinals
No. 3 Potomac Falls at No. 2 Freedom
The Skinny: The Eagles won by 26 and 17 points in the regular-season over the Panthers. If PFalls focuses on Dionna Scott, then Alexis Jones could be key for the Eagles.

No. 4 Briar Woods at No. 1 Loudoun County
The Skinny: The Falcons knocked off Freedom this year ... can they make do it to another of the girls giants? Briar Woods will have to control Brittany Batts, who has 15 3-pointers in her last two contests, and they will have to handle the Raider fullcourt pressure.

Boys Dulles District Semifinals
No. 7 Woodgrove at No. 3 Briar Woods
The Skinny: Can the Wolverines make 11 3-pointers two games in a row? Briar Woods loves to shoot the 3-ball as well so this could be a high-scoring affair. Myles Tate, BWoods JR point guard, as always will be key for Falcons while BWoods will keep an eye on high-scoring Wolverine JR Brad Gilson.

The Skinny: Patriots look for a way to do something that no other area team has figured out ... how to slow down the Panther express.
