Girls Volleyball: Loudoun County's Taylor Borup and Briar Woods' Lauren Twitty Make JVA National Watch List

(May 20, 2013) - The Junior Volleyball Association 2013 Watch List includes just 26 girls nationally for the age 15s group and two of them are freshman in Loudoun -- Briar Woods High School's Lauren Twitty and Loudoun County's Taylor Borup.

Borup plays for the Northern Virginia Volleyball Association and is already a verbal commitment to play in college at the University of North Carolina. Twitty is a 6-foot-1 outside hitter that plays for Virginia Elite.

Though just a freshman in the fall, the 6-3 Borup
was already playing way over the net.

Leesburg (Feb. 26, 2013) - Loudoun County High School 6-foot-3 freshman girls volleyball player Taylor Borup has accepted a verbal offer to play volleyball at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill starting in 2016.

Borup, a member of the Raiders AA state championship team in the fall, becomes the first freshman in Loudoun County's nearly 60-year history to have an offer extend and to accept in any sport, according to Raider athletic director Ken Wright.

The middle hitter/outside hitter  currently plays club volleyball for the NVVA-15 ICE. 

Wright: "A native of North Carolina, Taylor has always dreamed of being a Tar Heel, and quickly accepted the offer. We look forward to many more championships with Taylor and are proud she will be a Tar Heel."
