Football: SB's Harris Named Liberty District Offensive Player of th Year; Complete Selections for Entire Northern Region

(Nov. 10, 2009) - Stone Bridge High School junior running back Marcus Harris has been chosen by the league's coaches as the Liberty District Offensive Player of the Year.

Despite the Bulldogs 9-1 record and fifth straight Liberty District title, Stone Bridge placed just four players on the 14-man first team offense and just four players on the 16-man strong defensive first team.

Competitive Cheer: Stone Bridge Captures Liberty Title, Northern Region Field Almost Set

The Stone Bridge High School competitive cheer team captured its second straight AAA Liberty District title Tuesday and the fourth title for the Bulldogs since moving up in classification five years ago.

Overall Stone Bridge, which has captured four VHSL state titles, has now won eight district titles in the 10 years since the school opened.

The Bulldogs were seeded second after the semifinals but came out on top in the finals ahead of Fairfax, Langley and Thomas Jefferson. All four teams move on to the Northern Region meet which opens with the semifinals this Saturday at Robinson High School.
