(July 1, 2013) - There isn't much of a summer vacation for local law enforcement as the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office has been kept busy, according to the July 1, 2013 Daily Crime Report which includes:

News: Dangerous Saturday - Sterling Child, Grandmother Airlifted with Injuries After Tree Falls on Them; South Riding Teen Airlifted After Auto Accident

(May 6, 2013) - A 5-year-old Sterling boy and his 59-year-old grandmother were both airlifted Saturday with serious injuries after a tree fell on them. They had been sitting a hammock attached to the tree when it collapsed. The boys is in critical but stable condition while the grandmother is being treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Loudoun Sheriff's office.

It was a busy Saturday as there was another airlift with serious injuries after a 16-year-old driver from South Riding was involved in an accident at the intersection of Poland Rd and Edgewater St. The teen driver and driver of another vehicle, a 32-year-old man, were treated at area hospitals and the 17-year-old passenger riding with the teen was airlifted to Fairfax Hospital with life-threatening injuries where they are currently listed in serious but stable condition.

In other news from the Loudoun County Sheriff's latest Daily Crime Report, a 34-year-old Sterling man driving in the area of Regal Plaza was struck through the window of his car by an unknown subject. Here is the full report from across the county:

(May 3, 2013) - The Loudoun County Sheriff's Daily crime report for May 2-3 had its share of unusual cases including:

• 23-year-old Texas man was charged with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor after two juveniles from Georgia, here on a school trip, reported that the man offered them alcohol from his hotel room in Sterling.
• A 5-year-old Sterling girl was airlifted to Inova Fairfax Hospital after she inadvertently hit the throttle on a mini-bike in her backyard and rode through a common area before striking a parked vehicle.
• After 10 hours of negotiations, a barricade situation with a suicidal man on Beaverdam Bridge Road was ended without incident.

(April 22, 2013) - The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office was kept busy over the last couple of days with a wild car chase and DUI in South Riding, an accidental shooting in Ashburn, a robber with a firearm in Sterling and the latest in a series of exposure cases:

News: Shooting in Sterling Saturday was Just Part of a Wild 10-Day Stretch in Loudoun County

(March 19, 2013) - In a 10-day March stretch, Loudoun County has seen the sensational shooting of a Park View High School student, high-speed pursuit chases from the east and west into the county, a new teen driver jumping the curb and striking three children and stop sticks being deployed to stop a driver charged with DUI.

And if that wasn't enough, the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office reported another Sterling homeowner confronting an intruder just two nights after the case that left Caleb Gordley, 16, dead after he entered his neighbor's home, possibly by mistake, while returning late at night from a party.

In the case early Tuesday morning, the suspect left the home after being discovered by the homeowner.

News: Drive-by BB Gun Shooting? 11-Year-old in Ashburn Struck by Pellet

(March 8, 2013) - A 11-year-old Ashburn youth received minor injuries when he was stuck by a BB Gun pellet while walking in the Heritage Oak Ct/Ridgeway Dr. area Thursday at 6 p.m. According to the Loudoun County Sheriff's daily crime report, a black Toyota pick-up with an unknown Black male passenger was observed in the area of the time of the incident. The child received minor injuries but did not require medical attention.
