Boys Soccer: Briar Woods Keeper Kent Legg Commits to D2 Power Southern New Hampshire University

Ashburn (Dec. 13, 2012) - Kent Legg, senior goalkeeper at Briar Woods High School, committed this week to play men's soccer next year for Southern New Hampshire University, which finished 5th in the nation in NCAA Division II this year with a 19-4 record.

Last spring Legg recorded a 0.62 goals against percentage with six shutouts, working on his seventh shutout and fourth in a row when he suffered a broken tibia while making a save against Heritage in the team's second to last game of the regular season.


The Falcons won the Dulles District, finishing 18-4-2, finally losing to Jamestown in a VHSL AA states quarterfinal match. Briar Woods is coached by Francois Bernard, assisted by Kris Goodwin. SNHU is coached by Marc Hubbard.

"It's my dream school," said Legg. "It has been ever since I met Coach Hubbard at a Boston University summer college showcase camp two years ago, then visited the SNHU campus."

Legg was second team All-District in 2011 as a junior, All-Conference in North Carolina his sophomore year.

The Legg family has a long Loudoun County history that spans a century: Leesburg's Graydon Manor was built for Kent Legg's great grandmother, Helen Hibbs Legg.
