Girls Soccer: Broad Run Junior Darbie Kelley to Join Older Sister Kacey at NCAA Division I Coastal Carolina

Ashburn (Apr. 25, 2011) - Broad Run High School junior Darbie Kelley has made a verbal commitment to play soccer at NCAA Division I Coastal Carolina beginning in the fall of the 2012 season. Kelley will join her sister Kacey, a Spartan senior that has signed a Letter of Intent to play for Coastal Carolina starting in the fall.

Coastal Carolina is located in Conway, S.C., just outside Myrtle Beach. Coastal Carolina tied for first place this past season in the Big South conference. Darbie Kelley helped Broad Run capture the 2010 VHSL Group AA state championship -- the school's third straight state title. She is currently a member of the highly rated FC Virginia ECNL Hotspurs coached by Paul Ellis. The Hotspurs are 7th in the Nation and in the top tier of the ECNL Challenge A division.

“Visiting the Coastal Campus and meeting Coach Paul (Hogan) and Coach Rich (Stoneman) finalized my decision,” said Darbie Kelley. "I really liked the coaching staff and their dedication to the success of the Coastal soccer program really impressed me. I enjoyed meeting many of the current freshmen class players and appreciated how nice they were to me. I'm looking forward to becoming a part of the CCU Chanticleer family."

In addition to the Kelley sisters, Coastal Carolina has also picked up an early commitment from Woodgrove junior Charlotte Ratcliff.

There are now 22 juniors already college-bound!
