Baseball: Potomac Falls Starts Florida Trip on High Note as Rogers Tosses No-Hitter

Orlando (Apr. 16, 2011) - It may be raining here in Loudoun but the Potomac Falls High School baseball team escaped the weather for a Spring Break tournament at Disney’s Wide World of Sports and the Panthers opened things on a high note with Jackson Rogers recording his first no-hitter, a 5-0 win over Region 2 foe Goochland.

Rogers mixed his pitches effectively and other then two walks was in total control all day as the Panthers played at the stadium field of the minor league Atlanta Braves.

Tyler Caldwell and Rogers led the Panthers with two hits apiece and Ben Sweger and Tyler Rice contributed with RBI’s. Rogers had the big blow at the plate with a triple in the 5th to break open a 1-0 ball game.

The Panthers have Sunday off before returning to the diamond to play St. Francis de Sales of Ohio on Monday.
