(Jan. 27, 2010) - Loudoun County Public Schools officially extended its unofficial semester break one more day with schools being closed Friday. That makes four straight days out as Tuesday was a Teacher Workday and the next three days were claimed by the snowstorm and its aftermath. The first semester came to an end on Monday so the second semester now starts Monday, Jan. 31.
We are assuming that Friday night's athletic events are postponed as well and awaiting word on Saturday.
Here is the official release from LCPS:
All Loudoun County Public Schools will be closed, tomorrow, Friday, January 28. Administrative Offices will be open on time but employees have an extra hour to report to work before having to use leave.
The School Board and School Adminstration is asking parents to please shovel walkways and bus stops during the next three days so we can resume normal operations on Monday.
