(Jan. 13, 2011) - Loudoun gymnasts didn't rest after last Saturday's Glory Days Grill Invitational at Park View as the Cedar Run teams were in action Monday along with Loudoun County and then Wednesday featured two more big meets, with some very good marks turned in at Dominion including an area-best 140.900 by Stone Bridge High School.
On Monday, Heritage played host to the Cedar Run teams with power Battlefield winning the meet with 134.6. Guest Loudoun County -- Heritage's coach Jenny Aubel coaches both the Pride and Raiders -- scored 123.8 to take second, just ahead of Brentsville (122.25) and Loudoun Valley (121.75).
Battlefield's Brianna Artz won the vault (9.1) and teammate Rylie McKee took the beam at 9.6.
Brentsville's Kelly McKay was first on the bars at 9.45 and she took the All-Around at 36.4.
Loudoun County's Jessica Drews was first on the floor at 9.5 and second in All-Around at 35.9.
On Wednesday at Dominion (complete results), Stone Bridge was able to score a season-best 140.900 despite competing without injured Tori Severin.
Amy Fissmer led the way for the Bulldogs with a first on the beam (9.650) and tied for first on the floor with Drews at 9.60. The Bulldogs depth showed on the beam as they had three other athletes in the top five -- Chelsea Fonseca (9.30), Katie Crawford (9.20) and Reagan Lashlee (9.150).
Drews continued her impressive week with a 9.10 to win the vault and she took the All-Around with a 37.125 -- the second best mark in Loudoun this season. Fissmer at 36.600 was runner-up.
Dominion's Alexa Giovanis took the bars with a 9.00.
The scores were strong all around at Dominion as Loudoun County scored 132.775 as a team.
Also on Wednesday, at Park View (complete results), Freedom took top honors with 129.680 in a meet where Broad Run did not compete all of its top athletes, including Kimmy Ewen and Kerry Stolcenberg.
Woodgrove's Amanda Huebner won the All-Around at 34.6. She tied for first on the beam with Freedom's Morgan Toole at 8.6 and won the floor with 9.35.
Freedom's Alexis Chaet and Miranda Romano took top honors on the vault at 8.8. Woodgrove's Michaela Paschal was first on the bars at 8.30
