News: VHSL, Ashburn Mourn the Death of Melissa Myers

(July 8, 2012) - Both the Virginia High School League and the Ashburn community were mourning the death of 38-year-old Melissa Myers who died a week ago after a tragic car accident in Fairfax County.

Myers was the daughter of Lora Bickley, office manager and employee of the VHSL for 43 years. Funerals were held Friday morning in Herndon and Friday afternoon in Gordonsville.

News: Long-Time Loudoun Media Personality Paul Draisey Passes Away at 55

(April 17, 2012) - Viva Loudoun is saddened by the loss of long-time Loudoun media personality Paul Draisey, who passed away Monday at age 55. Draisey was well-known for his long tenure at WAGE-AM. Draisey was a fixture at high school athletic events over the years and was a member of the Beat the LoCo Experts panel for Viva Loudoun's You Pick'Em football contest. He will be truly missed by many.

News: Loudoun County/NVVA Volleyball Supporter Peggy Luten Passes Away; Celebration of Her Life Set for Saturday

Leesburg (March 1, 2012) - The Loudoun County High School and Northern Virginia Volleyball Association communities are mourning the passing of long-time supporter Margaret "Peggy" Marie Luten, at age 52, on Feb. 24 in Leesburg. A celebration of her life will be held at noon Saturday, March 3 at the Raspberry Plain Mansion, near Leesburg, followed by a reception at the Luten’s residence.

(Nov. 23, 2011) - Thomas Lewis Sims, 53 of Ashburn, VA passed away peacefully on Monday, November 21, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer. Tom was born on Monday, May 19, 1958 in Cleveland, Ohio. He was the son of Margaret Brown Sims of Wheeling, WV and the late James Russell Sims.
