(Sept. 5, 2012) - We start Week 3 of our Viva Loudoun high school football You Pick'Em contest. Not only is it fun to play but last night it was voted country music fans favorite local website You Pick'Em contest with a surprise performance of the Viva "Fox" mascot singing "If I Pick Young" with The Band Perry ...

(Time out ... we watched the CMT Music Awards and this did NOT happen ... but please read on ...)

The contest is simple, you pick the winner's of the local high school football games (complete the form below!) and if you win for the week ... you get an awesome Viva Loudoun t-shirt that recently was spotted on a Polar Bear at the North Pole ...

Each week we will keep your record and at the end of the year the top player will get $100 in their pocket and $100 given to their local Loudoun high school of choice (hey, our site is called Viva Loudoun ... not Viva Manassas ...). Runner-up gets $50 and third place gets $25.

Fine print: Employees of the Washington Post that point out our typos in this section each week are simply just showing off but we love them any way ... If you have lived in Loudoun for more than 20 years and get stuck in traffic on the way to a game then just clap your hands three times and shout "We aren't in Ashburn anymore!" ... If you miss more than three games last week then drop down and give us 10 burpee's ... no seriously, we are waiting for you to do those burpee's ... The "Fox" sees everything! ... (er, time out, we know for a fact that Timberlake does NOT have a T so you can actually be cooler than him!)

Fine print: Our last 3 Employees of Viva Loudoun (if there were any) are not eligible ... Using a crystal ball is allowed but we will disqualify any pickers on EPO (do ya hear that Lance!?!) ... Our contest is rated a 10.0 if you throw out the 6.0 from the Romanian judge ... Little known fact that one of the RNC planks is for ALL Americans to play You Pick'Em ... While I have your attention we are still searching for 3 glue sticks, a mechanical eraser and 76 6-subject notebooks for our Back to School supplies ... If you do well in this contest, you can actually receive high school credit!

Football: Beat the LoCo Experts - Week One Picks Revealed!

(Aug. 27, 2010) - We call this contest the Beat the LoCo Experts because, frankly, we must be a little crazy to reveal our picks prior to the football games on Friday but that is what VivaLoudoun Editor Dan Sousa, Loudoun Times-Mirror Editor Carl Lukat, Clarke County Sports Editor Moe Murphy and local football guru Jason Rufner all are doing!

You can enter your picks for each game by emailing to dan.sousa@vivaloudoun.com. One fan who has the most right (ties will be broken by drawing names out of a large coffee mug) each week will win a VivaLoudoun t-shirt (assuming they ever get printed) and at the end of the season, the fan with the most correct will win $100 donated by the VivaLoudoun Fox.

We would love for some other experts to join us but haven't heard back from them yet (cough cough **WashPost** cough cough).

(Aug. 26, 2010) - VivaLoudoun.com editor Dan Sousa and Loudoun Times-Mirror sports editor Carl Lukat are cooking up something new this football season -- and no it is not Sousa's Sliders or Lukat's Lambchops -- it is a Beat the LoCo Experts style football pick'em where Sousa, Lukat and other area sports writers give their picks each week and the fans compete against them.

The fan with the highest number of correct picks each week will receive a VivaLoudoun t-shirt (when they roll off the printing press which is hopefully in the next week or so! We promise!) and the fan with the highest number of correct picks for the entire season will win $100 ... courtesy of the VivaLoudoun fox! Honest!
