(Sept. 27, 2011) - The Loudoun Education Foundation (LEF) raised $92,000 at its annual Golf Classic on Monday, September 19, at the 1757 Golf Club.

The Loudoun Education Foundation (LEF) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation that raises private funds to enhance the quality of education in Loudoun County Public Schools. The Foundation supports projects that stimulate students’ curiosity and create exceptional learning opportunities.

News: Redskins Alumni to Tee it Up Sept. 19 in Loudoun Education Foundation Golf Classic

(Sept. 15, 2011) - Four former Washington Redskins – Clarence Vaughn, Pat Fischer, Raven Caldwell and Ron Saul – will hit the links at the Loudoun Education Foundation (LEF) Golf Classic on September 19 at the 1757 Golf Club. The former NFL players, whose appearance was arranged through the Redskins Alumni Association, will mingle and play with tournament participants throughout the day.

Redskin great Mark Moseley will be the speaker at a dinner reception and silent auction that follows the tournament. For the first time, the dinner and auction will be open for those who did not participate in the golf tournament for $25. (This fee includes an LEF picnic blanket.)

News: Exclusive Evening at Redskins Park Benefits Loudoun Education Foundation

(May 31, 2011) - Football fans can spend Wednesday June 1 at Redskins Park and get an insider's tour, dinner, a live auction for signed memorabilia and a chance to rub elbows with Redskins alumni such as Roy Jefferson, Pat Fischer, and Mike Bragg and it all benefits a good cause, the Loudoun Education Foundation.

The event, limited to 115 people, is $100 for adults and $25 for children. Redskins scheduled to appear include Jefferson, Fischer, Bragg, Ricky Ervins, Ron Saul, and Ravin Caldwell.

The exclusive evening includes:
• Guided insider tour of Redskins Park between 6- 7 p.m.
• A Photo Opportunity with the Redskins Lombardi Trophies (professional photographer provided)

News: Ted Leonsis Supports Education in Loudoun, Talks About "Business of Happiness"

(Aug. 19, 2010) - Washington Capitals and Wizards owner Ted Leonis discussed his new book "The Business of Happiness" at a reception hosted by the Loudoun Education Foundation on Aug. 9 at the 1757 Golf Club, just a 3-wood away from the AOL campus where Leonsis helped turn the Internet start-up into one of the world's biggest brands.

Leonsis added his support to the LEF by offering a $10,000 scholarship if a member of the audience would match it. This challenge was quickly met by Leonsis' fellow Georgetown alumnus John Wood, CEO and chairman of the board of TELOS Corp.

Attendees will receive a copy of the book and hear Leonsis share his insights on successfully balancing personal and work responsibilities, as one of the nation’s top executives and owner of the Washington Capitals and Washington Wizards.

News: Loudoun Education Foundation Names Robin Mong as New Executive Director

(July 7, 2010) - The Loudoun Education Foundation (LEF) announced earlier this summer that it has named Robin M. Mong as its new Executive Director. In this role, Mong will oversee key operational aspects of the organization, including fund-raising, community outreach and coordination with schools throughout the county.

Loudoun Education Foundation Raises $75K in 8th Annual Golf Classic

The Loudoun Education Foundation raised $75,750 at its eighth annual Golf Classic on Monday, September 28th, at Belmont Country Club. The money raised Monday means that this event has raised more than $750,000 in its brief history.

The captain's choice tournament was won by the CIGNA Team B team of Jack Weber, Rob Smart, Jack Wargo and Dave Boim with a score of 58 on the par-72 course. Weber and Smart also were on the winning team a year ago.
