Softball: 14U Ashburn Shooting Stars Gold Fastpitch Reaches No. 1 Ranking in Nation

(Dec. 31, 2012) - Just before the holidays hit the Ashburn Shooting Stars Gold Fastpitch softball team got an early present as the 14U team was ranked No. 1 in the nation by Youth1.com.

Youth1 in ranking the team No. 1 said: "Taking the top spot for 14U is the Ashburn Shooting Stars Gold, who, as a 12U team, won the 12U Eastern World Series over the summer in Salisbury, Maryland. Now a 14U team, the Ashburn Shooting Stars is 23-3-1 on the fall season and is once again World Series Qualified. Under the management of Rick McCarty, the team picked up a number of 1st place finishes this fall including wins at the Red Raider SoftballFEST (5-0), Potomac River Clash NIT (5-1), Heartbreakers Fall Classic (4-0-1), and at the Breast Cancer Awareness NIT (5-1).

Softball: 14U Shooting Stars Gold to Hold Tryouts

(Aug. 2, 2012) - Tryouts for the 2012-2013 14U Ashburn Shooting Stars Gold are planned for August 8 and 9 from 6:30-9:30 pm and August 11 from 9-noon at Stone Bridge High School in Ashburn. 

In the event of rain on any of the above dates, August 10 from 6:30-9:30 pm at Stone Bridge will be used as a rain make up day. Players are encouraged to attend as many of the tryouts as possible. Softball: 12U Ashburn Shooting Stars Gold Win USSSA Fast Pitch Eastern World Series

Salisbury, Md. (July 24, 2012) -The 12U Ashburn Shooting Stars Gold travel Fastpitch softball team representing Ashburn Girls Softball League won the 12U United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA) Eastern World Series held in Salisbury Maryland. The five-day World Series was comprised of 30 teams from the east coast to include teams from as far away as North Carolina, upstate New York, Michigan and Illinois.
