Softball: 12U Ashburn Shooting Stars Gold Open World Series Play Today

(July 18, 2012) - The 12U Ashburn Shooting Stars Gold girls fastpitch team are at the USSSA World Series today in Salisbury, Md. where they will compete for a national title .


The team is made up of girls from Sterling, Ashburn, Leesburg and Purcellville. The team is the current USSSA VA State Champions and just last weekend captured the the PONY Mid-Atlantic Championship. 

Check out their website www.12ustars.info for more info. The team's record this season is 88-23, which includes 7 tournament championships, 5 second place finishes and 15 top 5 finishes. This group of girls is one of the most dominate 12u teams in the area. They are all girls that will be playing for our high schools in two years and are currently in middle school. They practice year round and are very dedicated and passionate about the game of fastpitch softball.
