(July 31, 2012) - The Ashburn Wrestling Club will start its fall season on Aug. 7 at 6 p.m. Practices will run through the start of the winter on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Broad Run High School wrestling room.
The club is intended for all middle and high school wrestlers of any level, and is also open to post high school members who are looking to get in shape or just continue wrestling. There will be certain restraints on who post grads can wrestle in the room for safety purposes.
There is no cost, other than to purchase a USA card from www.themat.com and any tournament fees you decide to attend. Any coaches are welcome to come and assist, and leading the club for the fall will be former George Mason University wrestler Brian Smith -- a 3-time state placer in Virginia.
The club will be working on preparing all wrestlers for the preseason tournaments as well as the upcoming season.
