Volleyball: Loudoun County Wraps Up Another Dulles District Title with Sweep Over Heritage

(Nov. 6, 2011) - The Loudoun County High County girls volleyball team made it 40 straight victories over Dulles District opponents with a 3-0 sweep over Heritage in the championship of the Dulles District tournament Saturday.

The time-defending AA state champion Raiders struck hard and fast to cruise past the Pride with victories of 25-22, 25-12, 25-11. Loudoun County (23-1) will host the winner of the Briar Woods vs. Powhatan first round match in Tuesday's Region II quarterfinals in Leesburg. Heritage (23-3), with all three losses on the season now to the rival Raiders, will travel Tuesday to Western Albemarle.

The Raiders were led by Jordan Leiter (42 assists, 17 points, 3 digs, 1 ace), Jenna Strange (12 kills, 8 points, 6 digs, 1 block, 1 ace), Katrina Kirby (10 kills, 4 blocks, 3 points, 1 assist, 1 dig), Megan Fox (10 kills, 2 blocks), Maggie Phillips (9 kills, 6 points, 5 digs, 1 ace, 1 block), Taylor Huewe (4 kills, 1 block), Kelsey Slack (10 digs, 5 points, 1 ace), Gabby Serafin (9 digs), Kelsey Anderson (2 points).
