Baseball: Greater Loudoun Babe Ruth to Host 14-Year-Old Southeast Regional

(Nov. 23, 2011) - Greater Loudoun Babe Ruth League has been selected as the host league for the 2012 14-year old Southeast Regional Tournament. Teams from the Alabama, the Bahamas, North and South Florida, Georgia, East and West North Carolina, East and West Tennessee and Virginia Babe Ruth Leagues will be seeking the chance to play in the Southeast Regional Tournament at Purcellville’s Fireman’s Field and other locations in Loudoun County. The SE Regional Tournament is scheduled for August 2-6.


The Tournament winner will go on to represent the Southeast Region in the Babe Ruth World Series in Murray, Utah August 18th.

The tournament brings renewed excitement to the area’s Babe Ruth baseball family. Hosting a tournament of this size is nothing new to GLBR; nevertheless, the enthusiasm is building as plans are being readied for the tournament!

Volunteers will be needed to serve in a variety of capacities. Attend a GLBR board meeting (first Tuesday of each month at 7:30pm in the Don Rose Press Box at Fireman’s Field, Purcellville) or email the league’s communications director at communications@glbr.org for more information.
