Sterling (July 30, 2011) - Park View High School announced 12 new members to join the school's Hall of Fame which was started a year ago with the inaugural class.
New members include:
Diane Wright Breeden (1981-1985)
Mark Hernandez (1990-1994)
Mike Jacobus (1990-1994)
Genevieve Cummings Petrella (1979-1983)
Tom Slack (1976-1979)
Mike Spring (1976-1979)
Theresa Cummings Taylor (1986-1990)
Todd Turner (1977-1981)
Ken Wright (1984-1988)
April Hughlett Vinson (1976-1978)
Greg Mitchell (1976-Present)

Park View athletic director Joe Breinig, Jr.: "The purpose of the Park View High School Athletic Hall of Fame is to recognize and honor those Park View High School athletes, coaches, administrators and supporters who excelled in their respective sports or coaching/support roles and who helped to bring honor, recognition, distinction and excellence to Park View High School by their conduct both on and off the field, or court of competition. This recognition will help maintain the spirit, pride and sense of community as well as serving as a historical account of the great athletic traditions of Park View High School."
The second class will be inducted at the Park View vs Liberty football game on September 2, 2011. The induction ceremony will take place at 5:30 pm in the school prior to the football game. A reception to honor the inductees, their friends and families will begin at 5pm. At the conclusion of the ceremony all inductees and their families are encouraged to attend the football game where at halftime you will be recognized on the field. There is no cost for the inductees and their families for the reception or for entry into the game.
Hall of Fame timeline
5pm – Reception, meet and greet (finger food will be served)
5:30pm – Ceremony begins
7pm – Football game (ceremony at halftime for inductees)

Current TUscarora baseball coach and former PV standout Mark Bauer Jr. deserves to be in the Hall. Bauer holds all the school receiving records at Greensboro and continues to be a fine mentor for over 10 years. Hopefully he will be granted a much deserved induction in the near future
