News: APEX Gymnastics Raises Over $22K for Western Loudoun Relay for Life

(June 15, 2010) - The APEX Gymnastics teams and families came together on sunny June 12 to participate in the Western Loudoun Relay for Life at Heritage High School. APEX raised more than $22,000 for the event by doing various fundraisers such as selling candy, holding open gyms and soliciting donations from family and friends. APEX was recognized for having the largest team contingent of over 150 team members and team member Aaron Meland won the Miss Relay contest!

APEX owners Melanie Cuozzo and Marty Newsom: "Congratulations and thank you to all of our team members, parents and families who put forth an incredible amount of time and effort into our fundraising efforts! APEX raised the most money of any team at Relay - $22,600!

"This event is a wonderful opportunity for us to give back to our community and to show everyone what APEX is all about! We are so grateful to have families in our program who value experiences like these for their children just as much (or maybe more!) than a single gymnastics competition. This event touches all of us in some way, and some of us more than others... and it is important to us that we can all stand together for one day and show our children that there are things in life that are simply bigger than our little chalky world at APEX."
