Science: Loudoun County Public Schools Students Excel at Virginia Science Fair

(April 19, 2012) - Loudoun County Public Schools students took five first-place awards out of 17 categories at the 2012 Virginia State Science & Engineering Fair held April 6-7 at Old Dominion University.

News: Loudoun County Regional Science Fair Seeks Judges

(March 8, 2012) - The Loudoun County Regional Science Fair, which will be held March 15, still needs judges in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Microbiology and Plant Sciences. Judges will need to be at Woodgrove High School near Purcellville between 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Thursday, March 15.

To become a judge you need to apply by 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 13. To become a judge, click here.

News: Sharp and Team of Daitzman and Guidry Take Top Awards at 29th Annual Science Fair

(Mar. 23, 2010) - Nicholas Sharp of Dominion High School and the team of Robert Daitzman and Joanne Guidry won the Best of Fair awards at the 29th Annual Loudoun County Regional Science and Engineering Fair on March 18 at Briar Woods High School. Daitzman attends Dominion High School and Guidry is a student at Potomac Falls High School.

Daitzman, Guidry and Sharp are all seniors and both Daitzman and Guidry are students at the Loudoun Academy of Science (AOS). As winners of the Loudoun County Regional Science Fair they are now eligible to participate in the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in San Jose, California, May 9-14. In 2010, Intel ISEF will gather 1,500 finalists with the opportunity to showcase their independent research before 1,200 scientists, researchers and judges.
