College Corner: Potomac Falls Grad Flickinger Becomes West Virginia Wesleyan's All-Time Baseball Hits Leader

(May 2, 2012) - Potomac Falls High School grad Cory Flickinger became West Virginia Wesleyan's all-time baseball hits leader last week with a sixth inning single in the first game of a doubleheader split with West Liberty.

Flickinger moved past Lou Capolupo into first place on the Wesleyan's all-time hits list with 220. Earlier in the game, Flickinger collected RBI hits in the second and fourth innings of the 6-1 win. A 7-6 loss in the second games snapped the Bobcats 11-game winning streak.

College Corner: Potomac Falls Grad Flickinger WVIAC Baseball Player of the Week

(Apr. 27, 2010 - Potomac Falls High School grad and West Virginia Wesleyan junior outfielder was named the WVIAC Baseball Player of the Week for April 19-25.

Flickinger paced the Bobcats to 4-0 week by batting .527 (10-for-19) with three home runs and 15 runs batted in. The junior also added three other extra-base hits and scored six runs. He blasted a two-run homer in the eighth inning to help West Virginia Wesleyan tie nationally ranked Concord on Thursday and then an inning later, the Sterling native contributed a walk-off ninth inning double that gave the 'Cats a 12-11 triumph and extended WVWC's win streak to 16 games.
