Football: Briar Woods Hosts Signing Celebration for 3 Football Players: Rizzardi (Coast Guard), Hill, Owens (Glenville St) Plus Hoops Star Tate (Mars Hill)

(May 28, 2012) - Briar Woods High School held a signing celebration last wee for three football player -- Joe Rizzardi (U.S. Coast Guard Academy), Jamal Hill (Glenville State) and Kevin Owens (Glenville Stae) -- plus 4-year basketball standout Myles Tate (Mars Hill).

The football signings brings Briar Woods total senior committed to play next year to 21, same as Stone Bridge, and one more than Broad Run, trailing only Freedom with 24. Football also now has more signees than soccer.

Ashburn (May 23, 2012) - Stone Bridge High School celebrated Tuesday the college signing of 6-foot-6 senior center Jason Stamps who has accepted a scholarship to play basketball next year at NCAA Division II Glenville State College in West Virginia.

Ashburn (May 15, 2012) - Stone Bridge High School will hold a college signing celebration Tuesday, May 22 after school in the library for 6-foot-6 senior center Jason Stamps who has accepted a scholarship to play basketball next year at NCAA Division II Glenville State College in West Virginia.

Stamps becomes the 186th athlete from the Class of 2012 added to the Viva Loudoun College Choice Chart, shattering the previous record of 159 athletes from the Class of 2010.

Baseball: Stone Bridge SR Andrew Robertson Commits to NCAA D2 Glenville State

Ashburn (April 17, 2012) - Stone Bridge High School left-handed pitcher Andrew Robertson committed to play baseball at NCAA Division II Glenville State last week. The 6-footer's signing gives the Bulldogs a total of 17 athletes headed to the college ranks next year and 116 total Loudoun high school seniors on our Viva Loudoun College Choice Chart.

Football: Park View's Dante Absher and Marcus Smith Sign to Play at NCAA D2 Glenville State

(Feb. 2, 2012) - Park View High School seniors Dante Absher and Marcus Smith both received partial scholarships to play football at NCAA Division II Glenville State University.

Absher will go as a wide receiver and Smith as a defensive end.

(Mar, 29, 2011) - Heritage High School held a celebration Friday for six athletes that will play at the college level next year: Lian Bernett (volleyball - Coastal Carolina), Griffin Donovan (lacrosse - Christopher Newport), Dan Dykema (football - Glenville State), Erika Grabbi (lacrosse - Princeton), Caitlin Kick (soccer - Radford) and Emma LeMaitre (volleyball - Central Connecticut State).
